Policies and Procedures

General Policies

  • A valid Montclair State ID/Membership is required for access to the facility.
  • Faculty/staff and alumni must purchase a membership or can purchase a day pass with a sponsor.
  • A member can sponsor up to two guests at a time.
  • A guest must be sponsored by a current active member of the Student Recreation Center.
  • All guests must have a valid state government issued ID with a picture and date of birth to receive a guest pass.
  • A guest of a member must be at least 16 years of age to use all areas other than the pool.
  • Guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by their parent or guardian.
  • A guest must be in the presence of the sponsor at all times when using the facility.
  • Fitness instruction services of any kind that are not provided by a certified Campus Recreation Personal Trainer are strictly prohibited.
  • No photography or videotaping is allowed inside the Student Recreation Center unless prior written permission is granted.
  • Hand towels are required in all activity areas; limit 2 per patron.
  • Coats and bags are to be placed in the locker room or designated cubbies and be removed daily.
  • Lockers are for day use only. Rental lockers are available for purchase in the main office.
  • Proper athletic attire is to be worn in all activity areas. No bare midriffs allowed!
  • Athletic attire is necessary in this area, prohibited items include: pants/shorts with a zipper, tops that do not completely cover the torso, boots, crocs, open-toed shoes, cleats, shoes with wheels, and barefoot sports shoes.
  • Cell phone use, food, and carbonated beverages are permitted in lounge areas only.
  • Montclair State Campus Recreation is not responsible for lost or stolen items in the Student Recreation Center.
  • Failure to comply with the above policies could result in immediate removal from the Student Recreation Center and/or a loss of membership privileges.
