This accreditation confirms that each program meets nationally recognized standards, supports continuous evaluation and ensures the quality and integrity of the institution.
Programs that prepare teachers and other school professionals, including educational leaders, are also accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).
State Authorization
The State Authorization Reciprocity Agreement (SARA) establishes comparable national standards for the interstate offering of postsecondary distance education programs and is intended to make it easier for students to take online courses offered by postsecondary institutions located in another state. Additional benefits include expanded access to educational offerings and enhancement of the overall quality of distance education.
Students may apply to Montclair Online programs, although certain programs may have state-specific authorization or professional licensure restrictions.
As a participating institution in the National Council for State Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (NC-SARA), Montclair State University offers distance education programs to students residing outside New Jersey. For more information, please visit NC-SARA.
