New Jersey Mosquito Control Association Offers Scholarships to Student Researchers

The NJMCA is offering a scholarship for both undergrad and grad researchers

The New Jersey Mosquito Control Association has been promoting, encouraging, developing and recording safe, effective and environmentally sound mosquito control activities in order to protect the health and welfare of the citizens of New Jersey since 1913.

Educational Scholarship –  $1,000 available

  • The applicant must be a full time matriculating student in an accredited college or university in New Jersey.
  • The student must be conducting (or recently have completed) research that contributes new information to the mosquito control community.
  • Recipient Responsibilities
    • The student will be an invited guest of NJMCA, and will receive the scholarship at the annual meeting.
    • The student must perform their research to the best of their abilities.
    • The student will present their research to the assembled members at the next NJMCA meeting.

Daniel M. Jobbins Scholarship – $4,000 available

  • The applicant must be a full time matriculating student in an accredited graduate program.
  • The student must be conducting (or recently have completed) research regarding mosquitoes, their biology and/or practical control.
  • Recipient Responsibilities
    • The student will be an invited guest of NJMCA, and will receive the scholarship at the annual meeting.
    • The student must perform their research to the best of their abilities.
    • The student will present their research to the assembled members at the next NJMCA meeting.

A student in Dr. Matthew Aardema’s lab received the Daniel M. Jobbins Scholarship last year.
