Strengthen Science and Mathematics Education
The College of Science and Mathematics is dedicated to meeting our nation’s and New Jersey’s critical need for skilled and innovative scientists and mathematicians through:
- Comprehensive curriculum and strong faculty to prepare undergraduate and graduate students with modern skills in: environmental science and management, sustainability science, chemistry and biochemistry, biology and molecular biology, physics, mathematics, computer science, information technology and cybersecurity
- Outstanding teacher training and continuing education in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) disciplines
- New and upgraded research laboratories and classroom technology
As part of Montclair State University’s strategic plan to address this need, a bold commitment has been made to upgrade, and provide new facilities putting our science and mathematics students at the forefront of their fields. In building the Center for Environmental and Life Sciences — a 107,500-square-foot, state-of-the-art scientific research and teaching center, we have created an environment that appeals to research-active faculty to teach and mentor the next generation of scientists while advancing science through their own research.
