Strengthen Science and Mathematics Education

The College of Science and Mathematics is dedicated to meeting our nation’s and New Jersey’s critical need for skilled and innovative scientists and mathematicians through:

  • Comprehensive curricula taught by strong faculty preparing undergraduate and graduate students with modern skills in: computer science, cybersecurity, information technology, biochemistry, chemistry, biology, molecular biology, physics, mathematics, sustainability and more
  • Outstanding teacher training and continuing education in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) disciplines
  • New and upgraded research laboratories and classroom technology ensuring students are familiar with modern tools and environments they could be working in

As part of Montclair State University’s strategic plan to address this need, a bold commitment has been made to upgrade, and provide new facilities putting our science and mathematics students at the forefront of their fields. Through renovations in Mallory Hall, now the Center for Computing and Information Science, Richardson Hall and the construction of the Center for Environmental and Life Sciences — a 107,500-square-foot, state-of-the-art scientific research and teaching center, we have created an environment that appeals to research-active faculty to teach and mentor the next generation of scientists while advancing science through their own research.
