Dr. Sherrie Pietranico-Cole, CSAM partner and advocate, has been selected to receive the University of Pennsylvania Chemistry Department’s 2025 Distinguished Chemistry Alumni Award. In celebration, she will be featured in a symposium on October 16 that highlights her impactful career in drug discovery and development.
CSAM students are encouraged to attend this valuable networking event where renowned professionals from companies such as Regeneron, Novo Nordisk, and Madrigal Pharmaceuticals will be in attendance.
This event will take place at 1:00PM in the Carolyn Hoff Lynch Lecture Hall at the University of Pennsylvania, located at 231 S. 34th Street in Philadelphia, PA. The link to RSVP can be found here.
Dr. Pietranico-Cole played a pivotal role in the discovery of Rezdiffra, the first FDA-approved treatment for MASH (fatty liver), and has made significant contributions to medicinal chemistry throughout her career. As the first African American woman to earn a PhD in Chemistry from Penn, Dr. Pietranico-Cole credits her mentors, advisors, and early experiences at Merck and Roche for shaping her path and inspiring her continued pursuit of scientific innovation.
