Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design awards the Center for Environmental & Life Sciences building Gold status.

The conference, held at TCNJ, awarded 3 outstanding posters all of which were given to MSU students.

A public-private partnership among the Research & Development Council of New Jersey, Governor’s Office, New Jersey Department of Education, and Secretary of Higher Education, this program brings together a diverse and representative group of high school and post-secondary student leaders who are interested in pursuing a STEM-related major and career in New Jersey’s vast STEM economy.

The Creativity in Mathematics and Science Program funded by the NSF is accepting applications for their first cohort of scholars.

Students will be prepared to teach in New Jersey’s high-need schools

An interdisciplinary team led by Dr. Dirk Vanderklein (Biology) and funded by the National Science Foundation’s Education Dept. seek to help first generation students succeed in STEM majors. Others on the project include Nina Goodey (Chemistry), Joshua Galster (EAES) and Julie Dalley (Research Academy for University Learning)

Funded by Madelon Wehner, students presented posters of their research and the day concluded with a lecture given by Eric Wieschaus, Nobel Laureate.

The ASBMB Student Chapters is devoted to building a national network of undergraduate students and faculty members for the advancement of research, education and science outreach.

Dr. Michael Kruge, EAES and Dr. Kevin Olsen, Chemistry, studied sediment samples collected by the EPA from the Hackensack River that indicate the riverbed is laced for 22 miles with a toxic cocktail made up of dozens of contaminants, from its mouth in Newark Bay up to the Oradell Reservoir. Wochit

Andrew Robert Pallotto and Kevin Craig Weatherwalks presented in the MAA Student Poster Session, the largest mathematics conference in the US, and were selected as award winners in their subject area.
