Meal Plan Information

Whether you’re a campus resident, commuter or graduate student looking for unlimited meals or one meal per week on campus, we have an option that’s right for you!

The University offers two all-you-care-to-eat (AYCTE) dining halls — Sam’s Place and Freeman Hall Dining – as well as many retail dining establishments where meal plan block equivalency swipes can also be used. All meal swipes within each plan can be enjoyed at venues across campus (each meal/block is assigned a certain dollar value for use in the retail venues). Any cost above the block value can be paid with Flex Dollars, Red Hawk Dollars, cash or credit.

The following rates are proposed for the 2023-2024 academic year and are subject to approval by the Board of Trustees.

Proposed 2023-24 Meal Plan Rates

Residents in Traditional Halls (Fall & Spring Semesters)

Students living in Blanton, Bohn, Dinallo, Freeman, Russ, Machuga, Sinatra, and Stone (traditional residence halls), are required to maintain a Residential Meal Plan.

• Residents with less than 30 earned credit hours may choose either the Unlimited, 220 or 210 meal plan.
• Residents with 30 or more earned credit hours may select any residential meal plan.

Residents in Traditional Halls (Winter Break Plans)

• Traditional hall residents accessing or remaining in their room over any portion of winter break will be required to purchase one or both winter break meal plans based on the time frame they will be present on campus.

Full-Time Undergraduate Commuters

• $300 Flex Commuter Dining Deposit: $300 Flex Dollars, student pays $250 with $50 free bonus flex dollars on us (per semester).
• All full time (12 or more credit hours/semester) undergraduate commuters taking at least one course on campus will participate in the Commuter Dining Deposit unless a higher level meal plan is selected. Flex dollars can be spent at all dining, convenience store and vending locations on campus. Unspent flex dollars will roll over from fall to spring semester and will be refundable at the end of the academic year (for Commuter Dining Deposit plan only).
• Full-time Undergraduate Commuters can select any of the higher level plans listed in the optional plans section below.

Optional Meal Plans for Part-Time Commuters, Apartment Residents, Graduate Students

Part-time commuters, apartment residents and graduate students are strongly encouraged to enroll in any of these plans!
