We’re here for you with virtual counseling options and career webinars!

With all instruction moved online, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences is working hard to ensure that our students receive the same level of service and support virtually. Career Services is no exception.

Our Career Services office is still open and available to meet virtually with you to provide guidance or resources you need to succeed in your career path.

Virtual Career Counseling

Our Careers team is offering Virtual Career Counseling Appointments. Simply sign in to your Hire a Red Hawk account to schedule an appointment with a career counselor.

Upcoming Webinars for CHSS Students

You can’t come to campus, so we’re bringing career development to you. Our Career Services team will host four Zoom webinars to keep your job search and interview skills sharp. The webinars listed below are open to all CHSS students:

Creative Job Searching for CHSS Majors
While there are many career paths that are compatible with the skills learned in the liberal arts, the job descriptions for such positions may not always indicate it. Therefore, an effective job search by a humanities or social sciences major requires creativity (and patience!). In this webinar, you will learn how to identify your strengths and skills as well as connect what you have learned in class to actual job opportunities. Various job search websites and resources will also be discussed. 6/29/2020

Don’t Just Write a Resume, Tell Your Story
Your resume is not simply a summary of your skills and experience, but also a representation of you as a worker. In one page, your resume should convey a compelling story. Attend this webinar to learn more about how to tell your unique story and how it connects to skills needed in the job market. 7/29/2020
