STEM Graduate Programs
BIOLOGY – Master’s and Certificate programs
The Biology department offers a Biology (MS) as well as concentrations in Physiology and Ecology and Evolution.
Additionally, interested candidates can explore the Marine Biology and Coastal Sciences (MS) program for students who interested in understanding the relationships among plants, animals and humans while learning how to protect and restore these necessary ecosystems.
Students interested in Molecular Biology can learn more about the Molecular Biology (MS) and Molecular Biology (Certificate) programs, which focus on the study of biology on a molecular level including the structure, function and makeup of biologically important molecules such as DNA, RNA and proteins.
BUSINESS ANALYTICS – Master’s and Certificate programs
The Feliciano School of Business offers both a Business Analytics (MS) and Business Analytics (Online Certificate). These programs provides a strong foundation in data analytics, statistical and predictive modeling, analyzing structured and unstructured data, enterprise architecture, data management, knowledge discovery, pricing analytics, analytical reporting, segmentation analysis, and data visualization.
Additionally, the Digital Marketing Analytics (MS) and Human Resource Analytics (MS) allow students to apply the foundational knowledge of business analytics to their desired disciplines. Whether you’re interested in theories and technologies of the digital marketing ecosystem or adding people analytics skills to your repertoire, Montclair offers the programs to help you succeed.
CHEMISTRY – Master’s and Teacher Certification programs
Montclair State offers both a Chemistry (MS) and Chemistry (MS), Biochemistry Concentration. Additionally, the College of Education and Human Services offers a Teacher Certification in Chemistry.
Additionally, students interested in biochemistry can learn more about the Pharmaceutical Biochemistry (MS) program, which prepares graduates for careers in applied research or product development in the pharmaceutical industry and for work in management, inspection, sales and service.
COMPUTER SCIENCE – Master’s and Certificate programs
The Computer Science department offers Master’s programs in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, and Information Technology as well as a Computing Technology (Online Certificate).
Additionally, interested students can explore the Information Technology (MS), Concentration in Applied Information Technology (PSM) Online program
COMPUTATIONAL LINGUISTICS (MS)
The Departments of Linguistics and Computer Science have teamed up to offer the ONLY Master of Science in Computational Linguistics program in New Jersey. A total of 32 credits is required to complete the two-year Master’s program. All interested in languages and technology can apply regardless of their undergraduate major. Students in the program will be able to conduct research in state-of-the-art labs through funded federal research grants. Prerequisite courses (up to 11 additional credits) will be determined in consultation with the Graduate Program Coordinator. The coursework depends on the background of the student.
EARTH AND ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE – Master’s and Doctoral programs
The Earth and Environmental Sciences department offers a Master’s program in Earth and Environmental Science, as well as an Environmental Science and Management (PhD) program.
Additionally, interested candidates can explore the Sustainability Science (MS) as well as Sustainability Science (MS), Sustainability Leadership Concentration (Professional Science Masters) and Sustainability Science (MS), Sustainability Leadership Concentration (Professional Science Masters) Online.
INDUSTRIAL AND ORGANIZATIONAL PSYCHOLOGY – Master’s and Doctoral programs
The Psychology department offers an Industrial and Organizational Psychology (MA) as well as an Industrial/Organizational Psychology (PhD) program. These programs prepare students for careers in any organization concerned with human capital in the workplace and give students the tools for continued education in this or related fields.
MATHEMATICS – Master’s and Teacher Certification programs
The College of Science and Mathematics offers an Applied Mathematics (MS) with concentrations in Mathematical Sciences and Applied Math and Statistics.
Additionally, interested students can explore the Mathematics (MS) and Mathematics (MS), Mathematics Education Concentration programs.
The College of Education and Human Services also offers a STEM-Designated Teacher Certification in Mathematics.
NUTRITION – Master’s and Certificates programs
The Nutrition and Food Sciences Department offers Nutrition and Food Science (MS), Nutrition and Exercise Science (Certificate), Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) (Certificate) and Sustainable Food Practices (Certificate) programs.
These programs prepare professionals for careers in nutrition and wellness, healthcare, education and research, food and nutrition administration, nutrition policy, food production, food safety and regulations, and food and nutrition management.
PSYCHOLOGY – Master’s and Doctoral programs
Students interested in general psychology can explore the Psychological Sciences (MA) program which prepares the student for advanced studies in many psychological fields such as developmental, experimental, learning, personality and counseling, school, and social psychology.
The Psychology department offers a Clinical Psychology (MA) with concentrations in Child/Adolescent Psychology and Clinical Forensic Psychology. Additionally, a Clinical Psychology (PhD) program is offered by the department.
Additionally, the department offers the Advanced Quantitative Methods in Psychology (Certificate) program for students already enrolled in a graduate program who are interested in strengthening their knowledge in advanced statistics, modern data analytic techniques, and quantitative methodology in the social sciences.
Also, the Forensic Psychology (Certificate) program is designed for graduate students, licensed or license- or board eligible psychologists, social workers, psychiatrists, professional counselors, psychiatric nurses and other health professionals.
SOCIAL RESEARCH AND ANALYSIS – Master’s and Certificate programs
The Sociology department offers a Social Research and Analysis (MA) and Data Collection and Management (Online Certificate). These are dynamic programs that train students to harness the power of data to improve programs, change social policies, market a product, execute an advertising campaign and inform business decision making.
