Math faculty Dr. Ashwin Vaidya and former graduate student Joseph Pateras recently published a paper titled “A network thermodynamic analysis of amyloid aggregation along competing pathways” in the journal Applied Mathematics and Computation. The paper details their computational and theoretical findings regarding multiple pathways of aggregation that result from their computations. These findings point to possible interventions in future treatments of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease.
