Math Majors to Speak on National Panel

They will discuss their experiences as STEM Corps fellows, the importance of math education and its relevance to the betterment of our communities

Math majors and STEM Corps fellows, Cristina Flores and Julian Putnam, will be participating in a national plenary student panel on December 13, 2022, as part of the College Civic Learning for an Engaged Democracy conference organized by the Campus Connect. The College Civic Learning for an Engaged Democracy conference is part of a larger, national project called Bringing Theory to Practice (BT2P), which is focused on the promotion of civic values and community engagement through education (K12 and higher ed). BT2P is based in Elon University, NC. The team at BT2P puts out a newsletter highlighting interesting and innovative community based educational practices and the MSU Math Department was one of the highlights in the latest newsletter.
