Doctoral candidate and adjunct faculty, Karmen Yu, giving all she can to teach the meaning of a radian to Pre-Calculus students

One of Instructor Yu’s students, IT major Jeanine Gomez, told us that she didn’t realize just how much math she would need:

I used to believe that the level of math I used was sufficient and I realize now that what I learned in high school is simply not enough.

Jeanine shared that Instructor Yu “has made math enjoyable” by “discussing the why behind the math,” which she attributes to her increased sense making. Passionate teaching, even with a formula like C = 2πr, makes a difference in our student’s lives. Nice work Karmen. Your passion is absolutely RADIANt!
