Stepping Into Black History Month

Step into Black History Month with Montclair State University! Across the month of February, Montclair and Bloomfield campus will host various events that spotlight black history, culture and excellence.

These events are co-sponsored and in collaboration with African American Studies, African American Caucus, Black Alumni Advisor Council, Office of Inclusive Excellence and Institutional Equity, Office of Social Justice and Diversity, Sprague Library, University Police, MSU Dining Services, Office of Civic and Voter Engagement and Bloomfield College.

A Black History Month Exhibit will be showcased in Sprague Library all month long! Save the date, check Engage and join us in these celebrations.

Monday, February 2

  • Procession, Flag Raising, Proclamation & Program: 11:50 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., Montclair campus, Student Center, Ballrooms.

  • Black History Month Museum & Film Festival: 11 a.m. – 3 p.m., Montclair campus, Student Center, Ballrooms.
  • Black History Month Luncheon: 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., Montclair campus, Student Center, Dining Room.

Wednesday, February 11

  • Coffee with a Cop: 1:30-3 p.m., Montclair campus, Student Center, Ballrooms.
  • Sports Athletes of the Movement: 2-4:30 p.m., Bloomfield campus, Talbot Hall.
