Check your registration holds

To determine whether or not you have a registration hold on your student record, please log in to Web Enrollment Services for Students (WESS) using your CWID and PIN. From the Student Records menu, select “Holds”. This screen will explain the nature of the hold and give you the contact information for the office that has placed the hold on your record. Please be reminded that all registration holds must be satisfied before you will be able to register for the current semester.

Review your Analysis of Academic Progress/Register for classes

If you have taken coursework at another institution while you have been away from Montclair, an official evaluation of your credits is currently being completed. You will be able to review this credit evaluation online within 10 business days of the receipt of your acceptance letter. At that time, you will be notified via email that your evaluation has been completed. To learn more about the Analysis of Academic Progress and how to access it, visit the CAAAL website . After you review your Analysis of Academic Progress, you are eligible to register for courses. By comparing the information on your Analysis to the courses being offered during the upcoming semester, you can begin to build your schedule through WESS .

Make an appointment with an advisor

If you need help selecting courses prior to registration, you are strongly urged to meet with a faculty advisor in your major. If you are not sure who your advisor is, use the academic directory to find the main number for the department in which your major falls. The department secretary or program administrator should be able to put you in contact with your faculty advisor.

If you are being readmitted from academic suspension, furlough, or probation, you must make an appointment with the Student Academic Success Coordinator in the Center for Academic Advising & Adult Learning prior to registering for courses. Please call 973-655-7114 to make an appointment.

Attend an Orientation

If you have been away from the University for an extended period of time, you may also consider attending a Transfer & Adult Learning Orientation. At this event, you will learn about:

• Interpreting your Analysis of Academic Progress
• Contacting the advisor for your major
• Using the WESS system to search and register for courses
• ...and other University policies and services that may have changed since you left us.
