Title II Report

As required by Title II of the Higher Education Act, each year Montclair State University (MSU) submits a report to the New Jersey Department of Education with data and information about our teacher preparation programs.  Much of the data displayed below comes from this report.  The full Title II report may be obtained from the MSU Center of Pedagogy by contacting daceyc@mail.montclair.edu.

Summary of PRAXIS II Licensure Data

The Praxis II tests are administered by the Educational Testing Service (ETS) and must be passed by candidates in teacher education programs to be licensed in the state of New Jersey.  Pass rates are reported to Montclair State University by ETS.  Summary results for Praxis II passing rates for the past three years are as follows:

Student Performance Assessment Results

Montclair State University (MSU) has a performance assessment system in place for initial teacher programs and for advanced programs for teachers and other school professionals.  These are comprehensive and integrated systems of assessment designed to align with the MSU Standards for Initial Teacher Programs , MSU Standards for Advanced Programs for Teachers and Other School Professionals , the INTASC Standards, the New Jersey Professional Teaching Standards, and, where relevant, also with the Standards of their Specialized Professional Associations.  Multiple assessments are used at key transition points throughout the programs—at admission, in coursework, and at program completion.
