Welcome to the virtual home of the College of Education and Human Services at Montclair State University. Throughout this web site, you will find information that you will find useful throughout your time as a graduate or undergraduate student in the College, and we encourage you to take some time to become familiar with the site and its features. We also encourage you to visit the College site often, as it provides the latest information on College news and events over the course of each year.
Although you will find important and interesting information throughout our web site, we would like to point out several sections that may be of most use to students:
Our Departments and Programs pages are important sites that will provide you with key contacts and information that you will need to know as you proceed through your undergraduate major or graduate program. Please visit these sites to view academic programs of study, connect with faculty members, and to stay informed regarding policies, procedures and deadlines. If you are a teacher education student you will also want to visit the site, which includes all manuals and forms and valuable information regarding initial teacher certification.
The College also hosts its own Student Success Center, where students will be guided through the career planning process. Career Services staff members offer one-on-one career advising, resume critique, workshops and online tools to assist students throughout their academic career and in their job search.
Advising plays a critical role in your success as a student, and we encourage you to meet with your faculty advisor on a regular basis. To determine your assigned faculty advisor:
- If you are an undergraduate student, please log on to NEST and select Student Records/Advisor, or contact your academic department.
- If you are a graduate student, please contact your academic department.
If you have difficulty reaching your faculty advisor or graduate program coordinator, please contact Tammy Samuels, Assistant Dean of the College of Education and Human Services at 973-655-3096.
The College of Education and Human Services (CEHS) encourages students to familiarize themselves with the University Student Handbook, which contains information that will assist you, as an undergraduate or graduate student, in achieving your educational goals. As a community, Montclair State University has developed policies, procedures, and a code of conduct intended to help us live and work together as harmoniously as possible. It is your responsibility as a student to know these regulations so you can refer to them regularly or as needed.
- If you have a student concern, complaint or grievance regarding courses or other aspects of your academic program, please carefully review the process outlined to begin the steps towards resolution.
