EDFD 813: Education for Global Citizenship
This course is a collaborative, dialogical inquiry into the relationship between education and the ideal of participatory global citizenship. It explores the concept of citizenship, what we mean by a "good" citizen, the relationship between local and global citizenship, and issues of indoctrination, group allegiance, forms of community, and the ethics of pluralism; all in the context of educational form, content and methodology. 3 hours lecture.
Prerequisites: Matriculation in Ed.D.in Pedagogy.
