Resume Writing

Your resume is the first impression a potential employer will have of you. Learn how to make your resume stand out! Our workshop will teach you how to write and format your resume, tailoring it to fit the internship or job you are applying for. This workshop is helpful whether you are looking to write your first resume or want to improve your existing one.

Interviewing Skills

Whether you are new to the interview process or just want to brush up on your skills, this workshop is for you! We will discuss how to prepare for an interview and what to expect once you are there. We also cover some of the most commonly asked interview questions, and participants will learn how to respond to behavioral interview questions using the STAR technique.

Job Search Strategies

Learn the key steps in the job search process! Discover the importance of a job search plan, essential tools and strategies, and how to make the process positive and manageable.

Are you LinkedIn? How to Optimize Your Professional Profile

Come discover the power of LinkedIn, the essential tool in your professional toolbox. Learn how to create your profile step-by-step, effective online network and job search strategies, and how to start making your social media presence work for you.

Advanced LinkedIn: Optimizing Your Profile & Digital Footprint

The Advanced LinkedIn workshop is for those who already have their profile up and running and want to learn best practices for optimizing its value. This session will also cover the importance of managing your digital footprint. The workshop will be held in the ADP Center for Learning Technologies.

Professionalism

This workshop will inform students about what it means to look and act like a professional. The workshop will cover professional wardrobe, writing, and social media presence in addition to providing some tips about best practices and tricks to being professional.

Time Management

This workshop will seek to help students understand components of how they spend their time as well as learn strategies to help balance the many responsibilities and priorities in their lives.

Educators’ Exchange

The Educators’ Exchange is a professional development opportunity for graduating student teachers and alumni to meet and network with K-12 educators from various local schools, districts, and other education organizations. The event begins with a professional development seminar and is then followed by a career fair where students and alumni can speak with potential employers. This year the Educators’ Exchange will be held on March 30, 2023.

Ed Exchange Prep Workshop

To assist student teachers and alumni in their preparation for the Educators’ Exchange, at this workshop Career Services will provide an overview of the event, including which employers will be present and recommendations on what to wear, what to bring, etc. The program culminates in an alumni panel of recent graduates who found a job through the Ed Exchange and who will offer strategies for how to prepare for the event. The workshop will be held on March 22, 2023.
