Thanksgiving to the Opening of Spring 2021 Semester

The University will shift to remote classes after the Thanksgiving holiday. The offices in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences will continue to provide services to students, faculty and staff through December 24th. The University will be closed for the Winter Break from December 25th through January 3rd. We will resume all services on Monday, January 4th. Please find detailed information below for the various ways to contact each office/center. In all areas, the College units will conform to the terms and conditions set by the University’s Restart Plan.
CHSS Dean’s Office
The CHSS Dean’s Office will continue to provide services to students and faculty as the University shifts to remote classes. Remote assistance will be provided via our Live Chat or by email during regular business hours, Monday – Friday, 8:30 – 4:30 pm.
Academic Advising
Academic advising appointments are currently virtual via Zoom, with an option for a video or phone appointment. If you have a CHSS advisor listed on your Degree Works, you can make an appointment with a CHSS Advisor through Navigate.
If you do not have a CHSS advisor listed on your Degree Works and you would like to meet with someone, please visit our Live Chat feature, Monday – Friday, 8:30 – 4:30 p.m., and we can schedule an appointment for you. Instructions on how to access the Zoom link will be provided once you have scheduled an appointment.

Career Development
Our Career Development team will continue to be available virtually. Please schedule a career counseling appointment through Hire a Red Hawk. General inquiries can be directed to the team’s main email address at chsscareer@montclair.edu
Students can continue to log into Hire a Red Hawk throughout winter break to search and apply for jobs and internships and to access career development resources, such as Mock Interviews, Resume Reviews, Focus-2, On-Demand Webinars.
