Dean Lora Billings

Welcome to the College of Science and Mathematics (CSAM) at Montclair State University. For over a century, CSAM has built distinguished academic programs that encompass the natural and physical sciences, mathematics, computer science, information technology, and K-12 science and math education. Our growth and success is based on a simple educational philosophy: outstanding and dedicated faculty, energized students and a relentless commitment to academic and research excellence. CSAM is also committed to the ongoing formation of academic/industry collaborations and partnerships, both on and off campus, to speed the development and commercialization of new technology and provide long-term economic benefits of New Jersey and beyond. Associate Dean Stefanie Brachfeld

Dr. Stefanie Brachfeld assists the Dean with oversight of curriculum development including new degree programs, MOUs, articulation agreements, international programs, online programs, certificates, and new ventures. She is the dean's office point person on research-related matters such as the Faculty Scholarship Program, grant proposal submission, graduate assistantships, and serves as the dean's office liaison with the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs, the Graduate School, and University Advancement. Stefanie has a particular interest in student fellowships and research grants, professional development and career planning. Stefanie additionally oversees CSAM facilities, equipment, renovations, and lab safety.

Stefanie Brachfeld

Associate Dean Scott Kight

Dr. Scott Kight assists the Dean with personnel matters like instructional service reports (ISR), adjunct faculty appointments, and CSAM new faculty orientation. He is also the primary CSAM liaison for events like the Annual Student Research Symposium, PharmFest, and Major Discovery and Exploration Events. Scott works to promote CSAM Student Services, including Career Services, Academic Advising, Scholarships, and the Health Careers Program. Scott also supports CSAM student organizations, and serves as a liaison between CSAM and other student-serving campus offices like the Dean of Students, Residence Life, and the Center for Advising and Student Transitions (CAST). Scott helps individual students resolve academic policy issues, and assists CSAM departments with the scheduling of courses and classrooms each semester.
