The MSU Wind Symphony with conductor Dr. Thomas McCauley was selected to appear in concert at the 2022 World Association of Symphonic Bands and Ensembles (WASBE) International and will appear at the conference with ensembles from Spain, Germany, Korea, The Netherlands, Switzerland, and the US. The WASBE Conference is a biennial event. This conference was originally scheduled to happen in July of 2021, but was postponed due to Covid-19. The MSU Wind Symphony was selected as one of 8 ensembles (and as one of only 3 from the U.S.) from around the world.

This is the first such international invitation received by any ensemble from the John J.Cali School of Music.

The 2022 WASBE Conference is dedicated to celebrating the 101st birthday of Pulitzer Prize winning composer, Karel Husa, in his hometown of Prague.

The Conference is to be held July 19-23, 2022.

Congratulations we’re so proud!
