The start of the spring 2016 semester is an exciting time as students return to campus, though it’s a particularly extraordinary time for the George Segal Gallery as the gallery exhibits its recent 2015 acquisitions.

Two prints by Salvador Dali are central pieces of this impressive acquisition and are significant additions to Montclair State’s collection. The artworks are the first pieces by the prominent Spanish surrealist to join the Segal Gallery’s growing collection.  In addition, several prints by George Segal, the artist after whom the gallery is named, are also part of the acquisition and will be on view.

The acquisition will be exhibited at the George Segal Gallery from January 21 through February 20, 2016 and will be celebrated with an opening reception on Thursday, January 21 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. The show is curated by M. Teresa Lapid Rodriguez, director of the University Art Galleries.
