The relationship with our students doesn’t end at graduation.
Greetings Alumni!
This is an exciting time in the Department of Theatre and Dance and we want to share this excitement with you. Our series of student productions continues to grow along with our expanding programs including the department’s acclaimed Theatre and Dance Series presented throughout the year; our student-generated Theatre in the Raw projects, presented at noon on Fridays; three evenings of senior BA 410 Projects; and numerous student-directed class projects.
Students perform on campus in our expanded performance facilities, including the state-of-the-art Alexander Kasser Theater, the Montclair State University Dance Theatre and the L. Howard Fox Theatre, which was recently renovated with alumni support. Off campus, Theatre and Dance students continue to win awards and scholarships through the American College Dance and Theatre Festivals, performing regionally and nationally at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.
As a Montclair State alumnus and valued member of our University family, you are always welcome on campus. We hope you will visit often and attend not only our departmental productions, but also Montclair’s Peak Performances — an eclectic array of events that bring a unique, experimental dimension to our offerings. Be sure to visit University Alumni Relations to learn about alumni consumer discounts, career support, networking opportunities and admission to special events.
And take a look at our recent Alumni Success stories, as well as this Spotlight on Alumni to see what your colleagues have been up to. We’d like to know what you are doing too, so please complete our Alumni Update form. There are so many ways to get involved and lots of benefits to access.
Giving to the Department of Theatre and Dance
There are also many ways to give support to the Department of Theatre and Dance – whether by representing your program and university at a college fair, offering an internship to a currently-enrolled student or helping us create scholarships. We are grateful to alumni who are able to give of their time, talents or treasure – but equally important are the examples you set through your professional success and willingness to share that experience with our next generation of actors, dancers and performance technicians.
Creating a Scholarship
One of the most meaningful gifts you can give is providing tuition assistance to another student. If you would be interested in donating to an existing scholarship or would like to create one of your own, please call our Development Office at 973-655-7298 or visit the College of the Arts Giving Opportunities.
