2016 CEHS Awards Ceremony

Each spring the College of Education and Human Services hosts the Annual Awards Ceremony to celebrate the many achievements of our students, alumni and distinguished professionals. On April 27, 2016, with over 400 guests in attendance, the College recognized nearly 100 recipients. The program featured presentations of certificates, awards, and gifts from the College’s seven academic departments, the Center of Pedagogy, and Dean’s Office. The Exercise Science and Physical Education department had previously held their traditional Panzer Award ceremony in which 43 scholarship recipients were awarded scholarships that totaled approximately $25,000. The Panzer Scholarship recipients were also acknowledged.   

In addition to CEHS faculty and staff, family members, and friends, scholarship donors were also in attendance to celebrate and support the award recipients on this special evening.   Many of the College’s generous scholarship donors participated in a dessert reception with the student recipients prior to the ceremony and also assisted in presenting students with their awards throughout the evening.

The Ceremony concluded with the presentation of the Dean’s Awards, given to outstanding professionals making a positive difference in their community. The recipients included Mr. Juan Cruz, Director of Secondary Education in the Parsippany-Troy Hills School District; Mr. Jerome King, Executive Directors/CEO at Well of Hope Community Development Corporation; Ms. Sandra Heintz, Vice Principal at Abington Avenue Elementary School; and Ms. Julia Jackson, Vice Principal and International Baccalaureate Diploma Coordinator at Science Park High School.
