Montclair State University’s very first Master of Public Health graduate, Tosan O. Boyo (2011), has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center in San Francisco, California.   Zuckerberg San Francisco General (ZSFG), owned and operated by the City and County of San Francisco’s Department of Public Health, is part of a city-wide integrated health care system, providing primary, specialty, and hospital care for vulnerable populations.  ZSFG is an essential part of San Francisco’s health care system serving some 100,000 patients each year and providing 20% of the city’s inpatient care.  Recognized as one of the nation’s top hospitals and San Francisco’s only Level I Trauma Center, ZSFG serves the community with a full complement of inpatient, outpatient, emergency, diagnostic and psychiatric services for adults and children 24-hours a day.

Immediately upon earning his MPH in 2011, Mr. Boyo was awarded a highly-competitive Fellowship in Ambulatory Operations at UC San Diego Health System. http://www.montclair.edu/news/article.php?ArticleID=6679&ChannelID=7     In less than a year, he was promoted to Administrator of Multi-Specialty Clinics.  Most recently, Mr. Boyo served as the Director of Ambulatory Services and Executive Sponsor of Patient-Centered Medical Home Strategies at San Mateo Medical Center, where he also oversaw the transition towards Value-Based Care.

Mr. Boyo always has and continues to be passionate about supporting vulnerable populations.  He’s remained actively involved with the Department of Public Health at Montclair State University, acting as a guest speaker in the Health Policy graduate course and regularly communicating with the Department of Public Health about trends and policies.
