Heather Sootkoos, a student in the Exercise Science program, has been awarded the 2018 Co-Op Student of the Year Award. Sootkoos’ advisor, Diana Toto, stated that “Heather went above and beyond to learn the program and help us to meet the demands of the volume for our patients. She also took a special interest in our concussion patients which came out in the care she provided in interacting with parents and children throughout her time with us…Her passion to provide compassionate care held true throughout every interaction she had with our patients.”

Her exceptional work has led to an offer as a per diem Exercise Physiologist position with the MJM Center to continue her work in exercise and concussion research. Additionally, Sootkoos has been accepted at the JFK Muhlenberg School for nursing to continue her education.
