Tracie Morrison ’06 MA Named Governor’s Educator of the Year and Essex County School Counselor of the Year

Tracie Morrison, a 2006 graduate from the MA Counseling Program with a School Counseling concentration was recently awarded two prestigious rewards. Morrison has been a School Counselor in the Montclair Public Schools since 2006.

Morrison was named the Governor’s Educator of the Year for the 2017-2018 school year for Montclair High School. Her expertise and talents within her work in the Montclair district was honored.  The award will be presented in mid May at a Montclair Board of Education meeting.

Additionally, Morrison was awarded the 2018 Counselor of the County for Essex County from the North Jersey School Counselor Association (NJSCA). The award honors the professionals who devote their careers to serving as advocates – and often lifesavers – for the nation’s students. Morrison was selected due to her ability to deliver an effective school counseling program which focuses on academic development, career counseling and personal/social support. Morrison will receive the reward at an Awards Program held at The College of New Jersey.
