I earned my second bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Food Science with a concentration in Dietetics with summa cum laude honors. Motivated to learn more about the impact of nutrition on health and wellness, I returned to school to complete the requirements to become a Registered Dietitian.
At Montclair State, I have had the opportunity to serve on the executive board of the Montclair State Dietetic Organization, awarded Class I organization of 2018, as its historian, enter and win Innovation in Food Sustainability competition, assist in a cross-university research, engage the campus community on various nutrition-related topics, earn a seat in the Golden Key Honor Society and on the Dean’s list, and establish a chapter of the Food Recovery Network.
I am humbled to receive the 2018 Les Dames d’Escoffier New York (LDNY) Scholarship for women pursuing careers in food, the “Shining Star” award by MESH, and “Taking Responsibility Achievement” award by Chartwells Higher Learning. I attribute my accomplishments and success to the opportunities and support provided to me by the Nutrition and Food Science department. The professors and staff inspired and guided me on my untraditional journey as instructors, mentors and friends.
