Shannon Theobald

After working in Sales and Marketing for several years since earning her B.A., Shannon wanted to become a true helping professional and make a greater impact in people’s lives. The wellness model that the counseling profession ascribes to appealed to Shannon instantly as she appreciates the holistic approach. Currently, she is working for a mental health agency for adults with severe psychiatric illness—which has been the most rewarding work experience to date. Ultimately, Shannon aspires to work for a multidisciplinary private practice down the line. However, working with underserved populations is important to Shannon and finding opportunities to provide mental health services to those in need will always be her priority. Montclair State University’s support in Shannon’s personal and professional growth has exceeded her expectations. She is extremely grateful to all her professors and the department for helping her to pursue her dream.
