Dr. David Middlemas Named Most Distinguished Athletic Trainer by NATA

David Middlemas

Dr. David Middlemas, Professor in the Exercise Science and Physical Education department, was named the Most Distinguished Athletic Trainer Award by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA). The award recognizes NATA members who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to leadership, volunteer service, advocacy, and distinguished professional activities as an athletic trainer. It exclusively recognizes NATA members who have been involved in service and leadership activities at the national and district level. To be eligible for the award, the recipient must have both Board of Certification (BOC) in athletic training and be a member of NATA for over 20 years.

Dr. Middlemas holds expertise in the areas of statistics, research design and analysis, athletic training, care and prevention of injuries in the physically active, evaluation of clinical competency, and learning and teaching in clinical education.
