Dr. Zoe Burkholder Writes About Anti-Bias Education for Echoes and Reflections

Dr. Zoe Burkholder wrote a piece for Echoes & Reflections: Teaching the Holocaust, Inspiring the Classroom entitled “How Universities Can Support Anti-Bias Education in K-12 Schools.” Her writing was published this past July on their blog, among posts from other Holocaust scholars on topics such as Holocaust Remembrance, Rescuers, Survivors, and Classroom Lessons.

Dr. Burkholder is both an Assistant Professor in the Educational Foundations Department and the Director of the Holocaust, Genocide, and Human Rights Education Project. She is a historian of education whose research focuses on the history of racial equality and school integration in the United States, from the 1840s through the present. Additionally, she is the author of Color in the Classroom: How American Schools Taught Race, 1900-1954, as well as numerous scholarly journal articles and political commentaries.
