Dr. Stephanie Silvera, Professor in the Public Health Department, warns of variants that pose the biggest risks even for travelers who’ve been vaccinated for NJ Spotlight News.
“The vaccines Pfizer and Moderna are much less effective at having this…neutralizing effect on those variants. And, those variants are now shwoing up. We know they are in at least 48 countries and 15 states, including states people seem most likely to be traveling to: California, Florida, Texas, Washington state, and honestly most of the east coast. So even people who have been vaccinated and fully vaccinated still need to be very careful.”
