Newark-Montclair Leadership Pipeline Program (NMLPP) Kick-Off Event

On Friday, September 9th 2022, the Department of Educational Leadership welcomed a new academic year with their annual Kick-Off Event for the Newark-Montclair Leadership Pipeline Program (NMLPP) at Newark Vocational High School in Newark, NJ. The Culinary Arts and Hospitality Program within the high school graciously catered the event for all attendees to enjoy! Students in NMLPP are current educators working in Newark Public Schools who have aspirations of becoming K-12 school leaders as supervisors, vice principals, principals, or school administrators. Cohorts 2 and 3 of the program were joined by faculty and staff from the department as well as administrators from Newark Public Schools to celebrate what will be an exciting and fulfilling school year! Students from Cohort 2 shared advice with the incoming Cohort 3 on life as a full-time professional and graduate student as well as the importance of community within the program cohorts. The NMLPP Kick-Off event was a success and gave students, staff, faculty, and administrators the chance to connect with one another before the busyness of the school year fully commenced!
