Hawk Check

With the relaxing of masking and more social gatherings the University clinicians are noticing more individuals are reporting what they believe to be cold and allergy symptoms. In some cases, it turned out that these people actually had COVID-19.

Report Any Symptoms

Please remember to complete Hawk Check before you come to campus. Be sure to report any symptoms – even if you think they might be caused by something else, like allergies, a cold or the flu. COVID symptoms are usually very mild and can be confused with allergies and other common problems. Bookmark the Hawk Check form or access it from the NEST Mobile App, where it is the first item in the menu.

Stay Home if You’re Sick or Have Symptoms

The virus that causes COVID-19 is tricky. You might have it and not know it – and be infecting others. So to help stop the spread, please stay home, isolate yourself, let us know about your symptoms on Hawk Check, and wait for one of our health care providers to give you a call. If you develop symptoms while you are on campus, do Hawk Check and follow the instructions provided to you by Hawk Check.

What’s Hawk Check?

Hawk Check is an easy (and confidential) way to let the University’s health-care providers know if you have COVID-19 symptoms or may have been exposed to COVID-19. It is an act of cooperative participation in the University community and something we do not just for ourselves, but because it is helpful to all of our fellow employees and students.

Important Reasons to Do Hawk Check

Here’s why we ask all students, employees and visitors to always complete Hawk Check before coming to campus:

  • It is one of the most important ways that our health-care providers find out about potential cases. Reporting your risks and symptoms accurately – and promptly – gives them a head start on helping keep the virus under control.
  • It provides important data about the health and well-being of the entire University community that our clinicians use to help keep the campus safe.
  • It allows University health professionals to provide support and guidance to all members of the campus community, whether they are working or learning on the campus or remotely.
  • It prompts all of us to give a moment’s thought each day to COVID symptoms, risk factors and reporting requirements.
  • It supports the University’s contact tracing efforts.
  • It is the most efficient way to gather necessary information without over-taxing the people who must collect, analyze, and act on the data.
  • It just takes a couple minutes – and you’ll feel great knowing that you are helping keep everyone safe.
