Professional Development for the Advising Community

Providing continuous and timely professional development for the Montclair State advising community is critical to ensuring the health of our student support structures, and therefore central to the focus of the Advising 2025 grant. The diverse community of faculty and staff that provide academic advisement to the undergraduate population serve various roles on campus and the structures they work within are nuanced based on College, academic program, and student profile. The Undergraduate Education team, along with the Advising Professional Development Committee, and the Advising Strategy Group, ensure opportunities for on-going professional enrichment are made available to all who do the important work of advising on campus.

Montclair State University bases it’s advising framework on the SSIPP philosophy of academic advising, which also creates the foundation for the professional development structure within the Advising 2025 grant.
