Financial Aid and Scholarships

Looking for a scholarship? Student scholarships are offered through the offices of Admissions and Financial Aid, the university’s colleges, as well as outside organizations.

University-based Scholarships

Students applying for admission to the College of the Arts may be considered for scholarships and other means of support by completing and submitting the FAFSA to the University’s Office of Financial Aid.

College-based Scholarships

In addition to University-based aid, there are some awards for incoming students that are offered by the college’s academic units. Where that is the case, students are automatically considered for such awards based on their interview, audition or portfolio review.

Once matriculated, students may be considered for Department-based awards earmarked for enrolled students. Faculty will nominate students to the Department chair based on their academic performance in the programs.

Additional awards, listed below, are available at the college-level for which students can submit an application.  Applications are available in January of each year and are posted online.

  • Advisory Board Scholarship and Talent Awards
  • Cento Amici Scholarship
  • Dean’s Artist/Scholar Award
  • Don and Judy Miller Scholarship for the Visual Arts
  • Jeanne Wade Heningburg Scholarship for the Performing Arts

Outside Scholarships

Apart from scholarships offered by Montclair State University, there are many scholarship and internship opportunities available from outside organizations that can be researched online.
