Now in its final weeks, “Triumph of Philippine Art,” an exhibit of contemporary Filipino and Filipino-American art, is running through December 15 at Montclair State University’s George Segal Gallery.

Featuring works by such artists as Benedicto “BenCab” Cabrera, Ernest Concepcion, Karen Ocampo Flores and Pablo Baen Santos, the exhibit uses art to trace the nation’s recent political history from the martial law period (1972-1986) through the peaceful People Power Revolution of 1986 to the present.

Hosted by Montclair State University and the Ayala Museum (Manila), in cooperation with the Philippine Consulate General of New York, the exhibit is curated by M. Teresa Lapid Rodriguez, director of the George Segal Gallery.
