Thanks to the generosity of Cento Amici (translation:100 Friends), a community-based organization dedicated to supporting education in New Jersey, 12 College of the Arts’ students were awarded scholarships and recognized at the organization’s 30th Annual “Meet the Scholarship Recipients” Dinner on April 13 in Warren, NJ.

Robert Zito, president of Cento Amici, welcomed the organization’s members and their guests, along with student scholarship recipients from several academic institutions including Montclair State’s College of the Arts. Special guest, military and corporate leader Joseph J. Grano gave an inspirational talk and awarded to the students an autographed copy of his book You Can’t Predict a Hero: From War to Wall Street, Leading in Times of Crisis.

“This event is always a highlight of the year for our members,” said Robert Zito, the founding president of Cento Amici. “The opportunity to meet the students, who are selected by their schools to receive our scholarships, is a great reminder of why we work to support funding these scholarships.  They are truly tomorrow’s leaders.”

"The College of the Arts is grateful to have been chosen as a beneficiary institution of Cento Amici. We especially thank Cento member Joseph Canderozzi, who brought the scholarship to Montclair and who serves on the College of the Arts’ Advisory Board," said Linda Davidson, College of the Arts’ Assistant Dean.
