Although our office is working remotely due to concerns about Covid-19, we look forward to seeing you at one of our upcoming virtual career workshops. As a CHSS student, you can take advantage of the workshops and events that our College offers to those studying the humanities and social sciences. You can also attend campus-wide job fairs and career workshops that are offered to the entire community by the University’s central Center for Career Services.

The Army National Guard is hosting an information session(via Zoom) on Thursday March 11th at 2:00pm. Register and attend this virtual presentation to learn about the education benefits the National Guard has to offer, as well as career advantages. The information session will be led by SGT Alexander Flores, who is a former NYPD Police Officer and John Jay a College of Criminal Justice Graduate.

May 6th, 5-6pm, Evaluating and Negotiating a Job Offer
Do you know what makes for a “good” job offer? This webinar will help participants set reasonable expectations for the benefits and compensation packages of entry-level positions across industries. In addition, participants will learn how to identify their individual needs and values to determine the types of positions that are best for them. Lastly, participants will learn how to conduct negotiation conversations with potential employers.
