Piano in Steinway Hall

Music Therapy

Undergraduate (Freshmen and Transfer Students)

The audition process for this area of study in Music Therapy includes:

  1. An audition on your primary instrument or voice. Primary instrument audition requirements can be accessed via the Apply page.
  2. Interview with Music Therapy faculty member. As part of the interview, undergraduate candidates are required to sing a song from any genre of music (popular, rock, blues, jazz, show, etc.) while self-accompanying on piano or guitar. Use of basic chords to support the harmonies of the song — versus precise, written accompaniment — is fully acceptable.

Note: Transfer students who wish to transfer music history credits must submit a syllabus for each music history course for faculty review and approval.
