Increased Risk of Fire Today
Posted in: Fire Safety Updates
As we are experiencing low relative humidity, 10-15 mph sustained winds, and have copious amounts of dry ground fuels:
the National Weather Service has issued a “Red Flag” warning for our area.
What does this mean?
A “Red Flag” warning is issued when conditions are such that a fire will spread easily and rapidly, if ignited.
“Only you can prevent forest fires!”
Dispose of smoking materials properly (smokers’ poles, buckets with sand, etc.).
Never toss a lit cigarette into mulch or into landscaped areas.
For more information, please refer to the National Weather Service’s website.
