Utility System Smoke Testing

Posted in: Facilities Updates, Fire Safety Updates

Please be advised that tomorrow, Thursday, August 28th, between the hours of 7:00 A.M. and 1:00 P.M., University Facilities will be conducting tests in our underground utility system in the areas of Life Hall, Sprague Library, Morehead Hall, College Hall, Freeman Hall, and  Russ Hall, and along Valley Road.

Part of this testing will be the injection of smoke into the underground utility system in this portion of the campus.

Thus, should you see smoke emitting from the utility manholes in the southeast portion of the campus, you do not need to be alarmed as this will be as a result of this testing activity.

Should you have any questions regarding this, please feel free to contact Henry Ornovitz 201-704-4586.

Thank you.
