Employee Health & Safety Fair Lecture Series

Occupational Health Department Hosts Three Events on Wednesday, May 10.

As part of the Employee Health & Safety Fair, Montclair State University, in partnership with Atlantic Health, is hosting a series of wellness lectures to inform and support the employees. Experts will provide talks on wellness topics related to Nutrition, Healthy Habits for Busy People and Mental Health. You may participate in person or virtually. Healthy Habits for Busy People

10-11 a.m.

Student Center, Room 411, In-person or Virtual

Speaker: Cassidy Dock, BS, CHES

Making changes in your routines to lead a healthier life can seem overwhelming. But you may be surprised…small changes can make a big difference in how you feel! Learn the connection between food, mood, exercise, and stress, and how a few modifications in these areas can have a big impact on your health and well-being. Join us to learn some tips you can implement today to boost energy, eat better, and manage stress so you can feel great, even on the go!

Take a Breath with CAPS

Speaker: Melissa Zarin, Ph.D and Tiffany Ciprian, LCSW

Join Tiffany and Melissa as they guide you through ways to take a breath in your day and tend to your self care. They also share with you a brief overview of how CAPS cares for our Montclair Redhawk Students.

Nutrition: Mindful Eating

1-2 p.m.

Student Center, Room 41, In-person or Virtual

Speaker: Josette Sohmer, MS, RDN, CDCES

Emotional Eating can be a difficult habit to break. Mindful Eating will address why mindless eating exists, explore what mindful eating is, and teach participants how to work mindful eating into their lives. Participants will also experience an exercise in mindful eating.
