University Facilities have been working tirelessly getting campus ready for you. Below are some of the things we have accomplished over the summer. Wishing our new and returning students, teachers and staff a great year!

  • Richardson Hall 2nd Floor Renovations have been completed over the summer and are ready to welcome students this fall. Please be patient as we replace the windows over the coming weeks.
  • Hawk Crossings is ready to welcome its student residents with improvements to the three buildings in Hawk Crossings. Upgrades include replacement of flooring in the apartments, painting, new bedroom furniture, heater replacement and the installation of protective curbing to keep the furniture away from the heaters.
  • The Recreation Center is undergoing an entryway face-lift, including new automated sliding front door replacement, as well as replacement of all of the roller shades. The roll-up grill with glass partition has been installed to match the adjacent offices. Keep your eyes open for more improvements coming in the next weeks such as the main reception desk being replaced and the basketball gym getting new scoreboards at the end of September.
  • University Hall is undergoing an exterior face-lift. This project is a multi-phase project and will continue through summer 2021. Repair work of Phase I of the stucco exterior is almost complete.
  • The Student Center – New LED lighting has been installed in the NEST lounge as well as a fresh coat of paint to brighten things up. Student Center south entrance improvements – Two swinging doors will be repaired within next two weeks. Student Center kitchen restrooms upgrade – Project completed and open for use. New finishes match the other renovated restrooms throughout the building.
  • Red Hawk Diner restrooms – Two restrooms were renovated, new ceramic tile walls and ceiling lights are much brighter.
  • EV Charging Stations A reminder, the University now has two locations on campus with Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations. Read all the details They are located:
    • Red Hawk Deck, 1st Floor
    • CarParc Diem, 3rd Floor
  • Library reading rooms – New ceiling tiles, and fluorescent bulbs were replaced with LEDs, so these two large rooms on the main floor are much brighter. This finishes the upgrades of new furniture, carpet, and phone/laptop charging stations that were completed last summer.
  • Route 46 Circle – The construction on Route 46 (by the Route 3 intersection) continues. Recently completed is a traffic circle at the Clove Road/Route 46 intersection. (See image below and State of NJ Plan).
  • The Panzer Pool has been re-tiled and painted, giving the pool a little bit of a face-lift!
  • University Facilities’ Architectural Services team is in the process of developing a large-scale 3-D model of the entire Montclair State University campus for purposes of in-house design, documentation, and presentation. The project, entailing both a 3-D printed scaled physical model as well as a full-scale digital model, will contain all of our campus buildings as well as important information related to site topography, utilities, and infrastructure. This is one of the many ways we are continuing to innovate in the area of capital planning and project management.
