Friday, January 16 – Sunday, January 25
Week 1: Attend Class Like You Mean It
Showing up matters, but how you show up matters more. Being present in class helps you stay focused, understand expectations and build strong academic habits early.
- Arrive a few minutes early
- Sit where you focus best
- Put phones away and limit distractions
- Ask questions and take notes
Monday, January 26 – Sunday, February 1
Week 2: Do the Work (On Time)
Completing assignments on time keeps you on track and reduces stress as the semester picks up.
- Start assignments early
- Submit work by the deadline
- Reach out to your instructor if issues come up
Monday, February 2 – Sunday, February 8
Week 3: Plan Your Time (Better)
Time management is one of the biggest challenges for college students and one of the most important skills to build.
- Plan about two hours of study time per credit each week
- Use a calendar or planner to map out your schedule
- Be realistic about how long tasks take
- Use CAST Peer Academic Coaches, Academic Success Coaches and CAST Workshops for support

Week 4: Seek Academic Help
Strong students ask for help early and often.
- Talk with your professor and review feedback
- Attend office or student hours
- Use tutoring or writing support through CAST or the Center for Writing Excellence
- Contact a librarian for research help
- Connect with DRC for accommodation needs
- Contact Red Hawk Central with registration or account questions
Monday, February 16 – Sunday, February 22
Week 5: Take Care of Your Health
Your health impacts everything, including your academics.
- Prioritize sleep, hydration, and regular meals
- Register at the Red Hawk Pantry; sign up for the Food Champions program
- Use the Student Health Center for medical care
- Access mental health support through CAPS
- Explore Health Promotion programs and workshops
Monday, February 23 – Sunday, March 1
Week 6: Make Your Own Community
College is more than classes, it’s about connection.
- Get involved in clubs, events or volunteer opportunities
- Use Engage to find activities and organizations
- Study or spend time with classmates
- Be patient, building community takes time
Monday, March 2 – Sunday, March 8
Week 7: Know Your Strengths & Weaknesses
- Understanding how you learn best helps you work smarter.
- Study where you focus best
- Use your most productive time for schoolwork
- Create or join study groups if collaboration helps you learn
- Connect with an academic or career advisor if you’re unsure about your major
