Making Your Emails Accessible

Posted in: Accessibility

An important consideration for making emails accessible is to use simple text (e.g., no bold or italics) and refrain from using images whenever possible. If an image such as a photo or pdf is required, be sure to include what is conveyed in the image as text within the email so that those using assistive technologies such as screen readers can understand what is being communicated. As a general rule, keeping emails simple by making sure the content is formatted using easy to read fonts will increase the likelihood that everyone can access your message.
