macOS Tahoe Release for Mac Operating Systems

The Division of Information Technology is pleased to announce that the newest Mac operating system, macOS Tahoe, will be available for upgrade on all eligible university-owned Apple computers starting November 18, 2025.
Please Note: To download the update, you need to have at least 50GB of storage space available on your device.

How Do I Install Tahoe?
You will need to upgrade via Software Center on your Mac. You will find Tahoe in the macOS category. Using the Mac Software Center.
The upgrade can take from 30 to 60 minutes to complete. Make sure you have backed up your data before starting.
How do I know which macOS I am on?
Please use Apple’s instructions to confirm your Mac operating system.
Just a quick reminder that we only offer support for the three latest Mac operating systems, which are: macOS 26 (Tahoe), macOS 15 (Sequoia), and macOS 14 (Sonoma). If you’re using any operating system older than these three, it means they are no longer supported and need to be upgraded. In case your device isn’t capable of running the latest macOS, it’s time to retire it from service.
