Health Update

The University has updated its mask policy for the summer period. Specifically:

Students and employees who are vaccinated must wear a mask indoors whenever it is not possible to keep 6 feet of distance from people who may not be vaccinated. Masks may be removed in group settings where there is less than 6 feet of distance as long as everyone in the group is fully vaccinated.

Students and employees who are not vaccinated must wear a mask indoors and may only remove it when alone in a private room or when seated at a workstation with at least 6 feet of distance from other people.

Visitors and contractors must wear a mask at all times indoors, regardless of vaccination status.

Masks are required during the summer, regardless of vaccination status, in certain places. These are:

  • Classrooms
  • Campus health care facilities (University Health Center, Occupational Health Department, Webster Hall COVID testing site)
  • Student Recreation Center
  • Ben Samuels Children’s Center
  • All University buses
  • Elevators
  • Restrooms
  • Crowded indoor spaces where it is not easy to keep 6 feet apart, such as busy hallways, lobbies or common areas.

Masks are not required outdoors on campus.

Regardless of vaccination status, students and employees always have the choice to wear a mask at any time.

This updated policy takes effect on Tuesday, July 20 and may be revised as circumstances change or new information becomes available.
