What Can I Do Now?
You and your parent(s)/step-parent or spouse can complete the FAFSA for the ’24-’25 year using your FSA IDs. Be aware that there will be periodic pauses to the FAFSA system to allow for required maintenance. If this occurs, return to the FAFSA site a bit later to complete your application. You may also experience a waiting room feature.
Parents without a Social Security Number can now obtain an FSA ID at Create Account | Federal Student Aid. This will make it easier to complete the FAFSA on the web!
What Will Happen When I File the FAFSA?
- You will receive an email with a confirmation that your FAFSA was successfully submitted.
- The FAFSA Submission Summary (with the information you provided on the FAFSA) will be available in late January.
- The college(s) you list on the FAFSA will receive your FAFSA data in late January.
