WMSC Named Finalist for College Radio Station of the Year

WMSC is a finalist for the College Radio Station of the Year from the National Association of Broadcasters.

WMSC 90.3 FM, the official student radio station of Montclair State University, is a finalist for a 2023 National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Marconi Radio Award in the “College Radio Station of the Year” category. The is the fourth time the station has received a nomination in this category.

The nomination is the latest in a series of awards or recognition for the station, including eight Intercollegiate Broadcasting System awards in March, three national awards from College Broadcasters, Inc. (CBI) in October and the Best College Radio Station from the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System in 2021.

We’d like to thank the NAB as we look forward to what will be a great conference in October.” Winners will be announced during the NAB Show in New York, held October 25 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. WMSC is a finalist against WGCS-FM, Goshen College, South Bend-Elkhart, Ind.; WPSC-FM, William Paterson University, Wayne, N.J.; WRRC-FM, Rider University, Lawrenceville, N.J. and WSOU-FM, Seton Hall University, South Orange, N.J.

 

“It’s an honor for our students and station to receive this College Radio Station of the Year nomination,” said Anabella Poland, General Manager of WMSC. “Our students have worked hard to create fun, engaging and unique content for our listeners and viewers. This fall, we are looking forward to welcoming new and returning students-regardless of their experience- who want to be involved and continue the legacy of our station.”
